The prospect of preparing for licensure examinations makes my spine shiver. I have been to one and I have not had any good memory with the preparation process except of the fact that I really learned many things about life there. The experience is not necessarily the worst case scene in my life. However, it helped me land my license right into my own hands and it was practically the best thing that happened. Until now, whenever I think about exams I often think about how I prepared back then and I would never change anything given the chance of going back.

The very first thing that I prepared myself for that licensure examination was to understand the purpose of the exam. I understand the whole procedure all too well and that I have to take it because it will lead me towards my dream. It was one tough thing to do because people might think you are just being submissive to the how the system works in a certain field. But I tell you, it is not an act of submission. It is an act of understanding that in every field each person must and will have to overcome whatever is thrown at him given the capacity that he demonstrated in undergraduate school.

The next thing that I prepared myself was one goal and that is to pass the examination. Having this goal in mind lets me think that I can achieve it with all the effort, hard work and definitely the confidence that I will make it. True to the circumstances I really did and it made a radical change in my life that whenever you want or need to achieve something, all you need is to believe that you can do it and you can. A positive attitude can and will move the highest mountain being set as an obstruction to a scenic view.

Always complete given assignments by your reviewers and logically go through them. Ask the appropriate questions like why this is the answer to this question and how the answer came about. You go through each item objectively and look at it in a bigger picture because once you get the whole idea of everything you will come up with a strategy on how to really handle the examination from the examiner's view point. You will practically know that certain information is just a branch and you need to get to the root to understand why that certain branch came about.

Take as much time as you need to read all reading materials that are given to you. In every paragraph, you will find a topic that is worth noting for and you has to, not because it is needed for the examination but because you need to know and that you are curious. Preparing for an examination is never easy given the type of stress you are being put under not to mention the pressure especially when you are expected to pass. However, do not make this mentality your sole purpose of the exam. You review because you need to learn.
