Trreb has released a statement calling for full transparency, accountability and integrity. LoL

This isn’t a surprise. Looks like the joke is on members. And the rest of Ontario.

I think there’s been a bit of a misread here. I haven’t argued that boards are evolving. In fact, my whole point is that they aren’t. What I laid out was what evolution would look like if it were actually happening; boards developing traits and governance structures that outlast personalities, reduce dependence on who happens to be in the chair, and serve Realtors beyond the current political cycle.

Swapping insiders or consolidating influence isn’t evolution; it’s adaptation at best, and regression at worst. That distinction is important, because real evolution leaves behind something durable that survives leadership turnover.

If you look back at my earlier articles (last month I commented on the fact that members got messaging about carjacking over meaningful input about market fundamentals), you’ll see I’ve been clear and consistent on this: the profession won’t be better served until we stop confusing cosmetic change with genuine structural progress.

Bylaws to “create traits that survive turnover at the board table?” How do you explain the Proptx MLS board ‘turnover’ – filling it with TRREB loyalists. Will that be Dimichele’s first example of ‘cross boarder collaboration’ at his International Mls forum next month?
Maybe he can say more about Trrebs mandate to expand its role in realtor education…. convenient when the TRREB president’s son is teaching those courses.
Press releases about home invasions and carjackings but silence on the RECO/iPro disaster? Not surprising. the Trreb president-elect is married to the RECO chair.
Survival of the fittest? Or just Dimichele and his cronies?

Love the Darwin analogy—such a clear way to show that real change in boards means evolution, not just adaptation. The points on member referendums and sunset clauses really hit home.
